BIO
London based artist Joanna Shears explores the body's elemental sensory responses to unfamiliar audiovisual environments.
Themes of grief, anxiety, and fear grow from a bedrock of folklore, horror, and ritual.
Working with field recordings and footage of the natural world, Joanna twists familiar sounds and visuals to push them just outside of recognition.
Joanna has exhibited her work in the UK and internationally and has gained recognition for her experimental films, soundscapes and installations.
